Caring for God's World Together
Our culture proclaims freedom and individual independence, but in reality God has made us for community. We are designed to belong, ultimately to God, but also to each other, to the family of creation, and to the place where God has planted us.
- I recognise that God has created me to belong in community.
- I choose to belong to A Rocha's 24:1 community, and, where possible, to be part of a 24:1 Community Group.
Ideas for Belonging to:
- A Rocha's 24:1 community of creation-care
- seeking like-minded people locally to form a small group
- seeking to share prayer, ideas and resources with each other
- seeking to live lightly in enjoying and celebrating God's creation
- seeking to find a practical local project to be involved in together
- Local community - rooted where we're planted
- seeking to understand my local environment, wildlife and area
- seeking to know and be involved in my local community, especially with those working with and caring for the land
- Christian community - greening the Church
- being a prophetic challenge to the church family in showing how lifestyle is part of our witness, our worship and our discipleship.
- encouraging local churches to undertake www.ecocongregation.org
- encouraging churches to celebrate Environment Sunday
- The human family - where the poor suffer first
- seeking to improve links between urban and rural, farmers and consumers, the West and the South.
- being challenged by the material poverty yet often fullness of life of those from other countries and cultures, and some closer to home
- The created community
- seeking to serve and preserve each part of God's creation
- living in close relationship with God's creation
