Behaving

How to live lightly!

Each person accepting the 24:1 Challenge starts from a different place, and will move at their own pace. This is not about having all the answers, living the 'perfect' life, or being motivated by guilt. Avoid the danger of becoming a driven 'Eco-Pharisee', by spending time enjoying creation, by observing Sabbath rest, by allowing God's free grace to touch you. This is about living lightly - not about taking yourself too seriously. If it all becomes too much, take a break! 'Go for a walk, get wet, dig the earth's, as Archbishop Rowan Williams says.

There are no simple answers in living a simpler, greener life. Choose your changes prayerfully, listen hard, and then do SOMETHING! Where the choices seem hard, remember it is better to take a step, than no step at all... changing the world begins with being changed yourself. In terms of choosing where to start, it may be helpful to look at your environmental footprint (the impact of your lifestyle) under the following suggested headings, and over time seek to make some change in each of them.
